Summer has arrived and the weather is mostly gorgeous! If you miss the beach, you needn’t feel disappointed.  Germany boasts several beautiful outdoor swimming pools which you can visit around the Wiesbaden area.

Grab a towel, slap on some sunscreen and go and enjoy the sun by the pool. Here’s our list of pools and beaches around our US military community in Wiesbaden, so find one near you and enjoy!

Kallebad Open-Air Swimming Pool

A family swimming pool with eight lanes including a 3m diving platform, a separate non-swimmer pool, a parent & child area with a water mushroom and more.

Monday-Friday: 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

Freibad Maaraue (Maaraue Outdoor Pool)

The large swimming pool also has a separate non-swimmer pool, a 50 meter lap pool, 3 meter diving pool, water slide and children’s water mushroom. Additionally, there is a badminton and table tennis area, chess table area, basketball court and bowling green.

Freibad Opelbad Wiesbaden

The outdoor pool is 50m in length and the water temperature is 24 degrees. Also available is a water slide, a parent & child area with a slide, a Finnish sauna, an outdoor chess area, a volleyball court and a tennis court.

Frei- und Hallenbad Kleinfeldchen

Kleinfeldchen not only has indoor and outdoor pools, but also 10 meter diving tower, a large slide, a wading pool, non-swimmers area, massage jets, whirlpool chairs, a sauna, basketball and volleyball courts, exercise facilities and more.

Schwimmbad Mainzer Schwimmverein (Swimming Pool of the Mainz Swimmer’s Association)

Mainzer features an outdoor Olympic swimming pool, indoor pool, a toddlers paddling area, basketball & volleyball courts, table tennis, playground and more.

Mainz Strand (Beach)

From May to September, sun-worshippers can experience the Rhine beach in Mainz. It’s more of a relaxing lounge and evening party area than a family beach, but you can certainly enjoy the ambiance and soak up the sun. There is beach volleyball, cocktail bars and a grill as well as deck chairs and hammocks. For watersports fans, the area also offers wakeboard, water ski, jet ski rental and skippers’ licenses (www.wakeboarden-mainz.de)
